An estimated amount of 14 000 customers across the Western Cape have been left without electricity, after the severe weather conditions impacted Eskom’s electricity supply, reports Cape {town} Etc.

Reportedly, the affected areas are Bluedowns, Breede Valley, Delft, Grabouw, Hermanus, Standford, Gansbaai, Khayelitsha, Northpine, Wallacedene and surrounding farms.
In a media release, Eskom informed the public that the electricity network will be vulnerable due to ongoing damaging winds and severe weather.

The South African Weather Services has already issued an Orange level 6 warning for most of the Western Cape.
Furthermore, restoration efforts as well as the current backlog of faults that Eskom has prioritised to reduce will potentially be affected by the ongoing weather.

Should an electricity interruption occur, Eskom has advised customers to log a fault and treat all electricity appliances as live until their power is restored.
