On Saturday afternoon, Muizenberg residents – a nephew and uncle who requested anonymity – went for a bike ride with their husky dog, Skye. After riding for about 3.6 kilometres, the two decided to take a break.
As they got off their bicycles, they were approached by three minors and one adult male after 3pm.
The uncle was stabbed twice: in the forearm and on the side of his ribcage. A rock was also thrown at Skye, causing her to flee.

He and his injured uncle searched for Skye for 30 to 40 minutes but were unable to find her. The uncle was then transported to the hospital, and the search for Skye continued.
After collecting his uncle from the hospital, they returned to the area around 8am to continue the search, which would last until nearly midnight. Skye was found on the mountain on Tuesday morning.
The search party started about 8am, in all different directions on Redhill mountain, the hiking area there.
He informed the Cape Argus that his uncle had discovered Skye, and he drove as far as his car would go before searching the area.
Skye’s owner stated that she was taken to the vet right away and is doing well, aside from a cut on her snout caused by the stone.
The four-year-old husky has been with him since she was a pup, referring to the dog as a lockdown puppy, as he got her during the Covid-19 epidemic.
