In a startling development, sources have disclosed that two of the suspects are implicated in the earlier killing of the victim’s brother in January.
The shooting, which occurred on Wednesday morning in Thames Walk, resulted in the death of the 19-year-old Clever Kids gang member, shot five times at close range while visiting his mother’s residence in HL territory.
According to the Daily Voice, the trio was apprehended by Manenberg police shortly after the incident. Investigations revealed that the primary shooter had recently appeared in Wynberg Regional Court on charges of attempting to murder police officers in February.
Quoting the source, ‘His older brother was also an HL who jumped camp to the Clever Kidz and was warned to stay out of the area and when he didn’t they shot him. The teen then subsequently stabbed an HL on the railway line and a murder case was registered in Gugulethu. This week the teen also went to his mother’s house and this is where this three got him and killed him. Two of them will also now be charged with the murder of his brother and it was found that the main hitman known as Apie appeared in Wynberg Court on 21 May where he is facing attempted murder charges for shooting on the police and was given bail and all he did was come back and kill again.’
