According to SAWS, a cold front associated with a steep upper-air trough is expected over the City of Cape Town, Swartland, Stellenbsoch, Drakenstein and western parts of Overberg municipalities tomorrow.
As a result, the weather service issued a Yellow level 2 for disruptive rain, forecasting heavy rain and showers with rainfall accumulation amounts of 40 to 50mm.
SAWS added that weather-based impacts may include localised flooding of susceptible formal/informal settlements, slippery roads and reduced visibility which may cause increased travel time on major roads and minor vehicle accidents.
The weather warning is valid from 5am until 11pm on Wednesday, 3 July.
Additionally, SAWS has also issued a Yellow level 2 warning for damaging winds as the cold front is expected to bring strong to near gale westerly to north-westerly winds (40 to 60 kph) between Saldanha and Cape Agulhus by tomorrow afternoon and spreading to Plettenberg Bay towards the evening while moderating from the west.
According to the weather service, rough and choppy seas with wave heights of 3.5 to 4 metres are also in the cards for tomorrow.
The weather warning is valid from 12pm until 11pm on Wednesday, 3 July.
