Three Cape Town beaches have made the Golden Beach Award 2024 list, which consists of the 100 best beaches around the world that have been selected.
Boulder’s beach, Bloubergstrand beach and Clifton beaches appeared on the list, according to the BeachAtlas website.

Clifton beaches were ranked at the 68th spot, while Bloubergstrand beach appeared higher on the list at 33rd.
Boulder’s beach made the top 10 spot at second place, just behind Bora Bora, located in French Polynesia.

The criteria for compiling the list included classic beauty, party and lifestyle, Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), community, natural diversity and cultural significance.
The selection process was a combination of 100 beaches being shortlisted by an algorithm according to the criteria to ensure a ‘diverse and inclusive selection rooted in data’, with travel experts and influencers also voting on these beaches, to add their insights to ‘refine and help rank the list’.
