‘On arrival, officers found a male who had suffered a gunshot wound to his head. Later, it was established a second male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his eyes,’ said Pojie.
While no arrests have yet been made regarding the shooting, police patrols have been increased in the area following the incident
‘Officers were on patrol in Kabonkelberg Road, Heideveld, when they responded to a complaint at the mentioned address,’ said Pojie.
Meanwhile, the Manenberg Community Police Forum (CPF) has reported a spike of calls to the forum from residents regarding ‘an uptick in gang violence’.
This is according to Vernon Visagie, a member of the Manenberg CPF.
‘We are very busy at this moment because there were shootings on Tuesday morning, and we had to pick up two bodies. This is besides the incident that took place over the weekend,’ said Visagie.
Visagie added that the CPF was focused on ‘keeping the community safe and informed’ of the latest developments.
‘As the CPF, we are very concerned about the flare-up of gang violence. At this moment, we are working on events, what we can do for the broader community, and how to make people aware of what is taking place,’ said Visagie.
