During April and May 2024, the municipality aimed to beat its previous targets of replacing 50 000 metres of waterpipes and 100 000 metres of sewer pipes.
By the end of May, it successfully replaced 97% of water pipes and 78% of sewer pipes.
This amounts to just over 8 652 metres of water pipes and 26 011 metres of sewer pipes in various projects across Cape Town.
