The comedy show, starring David Isaacs and Oscar Petersen, is set in a beloved local barber shop. It features the trivialities and tid-bits which accompany life in the Cape Flats.
The actors and their characters hold a very special place in the hearts of their loyal audience.
In many ways, they’ve created their own little family. Alongside this, the authentic representation of not only life on the Cape Flats, but coloured culture at large, has shaped the sense of humour of a generation.
According to the Daily Voice, Isaacs has remarked that ‘it has always been about the fans for Oscar and I. Joe Barber was conceptualised in Cape Town, it takes place in Cape Town, and for us it makes sense that the 25th anniversary is launched right here in the Mother City.’
Audiences are beaming with excitement for the duo to take the stage once again. They’re beaming because in more ways than one, it’ll be a family reunion, with long-lost uncles, and we can’t wait to catch-up as though no time has passed at all.
