CapeTalk radio host and theatre celeb John Maytham and Stormers team sponsors DHL have successfully raised R50 000 for the Barrydale rugby community.
Maytham, Stormers director of rugby John Dobson and DHL teamed up to auction two tickets to the blockbuster showdown between the Springboks and All Blacks at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, as well as official Stormers gear.

Maytham wanted to make a contribution and came up with the idea of auctioning his two tickets, near the halfway line in the West Stand, for the game. The auction raised R25 000 and DHL agreed to match it.
‘On a recent visit to Barrydale, I was very impressed by the spirit of cooperation between significant leaders in the town and in the township, and by the central role that rugby plays in cementing community cohesion,’ said Maytham.
Dobson also put up two 2024/25 Stormers season tickets and kit – including some that aren’t available to the public – in aid of local rugby clubs, The Flying Eagles and Stryders.
