The South African Weather Service has issued an Orange level 5 warning for disruptive rain.
The severe rainfall is expected over the City of Cape Town and the Cape Winelands on Saturday, 27 July.

Furthermore, a significant cold front is expected in the Western and Northern Cape from Saturday, 27 July until Monday, 29 July.
Rainfall is expected to range between 20 and 30mm and will increase to approximately 40mm in mountainous areas during the prescribed period.

The South African Weather Service has warned that potential impacts include heavy downpours, which could lead to immense flooding, the temporary cut-off of certain communities, disruption to essential services and major traffic congestion caused by the flooding of major roads.

In accordance with the severe weather alerts, the City of Cape Town has issued a cancellation notice for the ‘Kuier@theCastle’ event, which was scheduled to take place this coming Saturday.
The event has been rescheduled to 31 August in order to prioritise the safety of vendors and staff.
