During the recent Cape Storm, as relentless rain and howling winds battered the city, SPCA inspectors went on a rescue mission, looking for animals in distress in the most vulnerable areas.
It was during these efforts that they discovered Langa (whose name means ‘Sun’) huddled against a palisade fence.

The weather had turned bad, and she was left bleeding, frozen and abandoned after being stoned and beaten.
A good Samaritan informed inspectors of her plight and volunteered to assist in rescuing her.
She was quickly admitted to the animal hospital, where she was warmed up and given emergency medical treatment.
While the Cape expects more disruptive rain this week, the sun has broken through Langa’s storm, and she is doing well in the SPCA’s care.
Unfortunately, the people who caused her pain are no longer alive, and Langa will have no way to get justice.
However, the SPCA is determined that she will only know warmth from now on – not just the warmth provided by a blanket, but the warmth of love, care and compassion. Something that all animals deserve.
‘Thank you for keeping our Inspectors on the road so they can step in and stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves,’ said the SPCA.
‘Because of you, Langa has gone from cruelty to care and she’ll never endure suffering ever again.’
