Cape Town is grappling with severe weather conditions this Thursday morning, resulting in heavy traffic and significant flooding across multiple areas.
Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid certain routes if possible.

Traffic is particularly heavy on the N2 Inbound at the ramp to Jakes Gerwel Drive.
The N7 Southbound at the ramp to N1 Inbound is heavily congested, and the N7 Northbound between Wingfield Interchange and Bosmansdam Road is experiencing slow-moving traffic.
Additionally, the N7 Southbound at the ramp to Bosmansdam Road is congested, causing further delays.
The R300 Northbound at the ramp to Old Paarl Road is also experiencing significant delays.
On the N2 Outbound before Victoria Road in Somerset West, traffic is backed up due to the weather conditions.
The N1 Inbound between Plattekloof Road and Sable Road is heavily congested, and the N2 Inbound between Jakes Gerwel Drive and Liesbeeck Parkway is slow-moving.
The N1 Inbound ramp to Jip De Jager and the N1 Inbound at Durban Road are also experiencing heavy traffic.
Further delays are reported on the R300 Northbound at the ramp to N1 Inbound and the R300 Northbound at the ramp to Van Riebeeck Road.
Flooding has caused significant disruptions on Chukker Road and Wetton Road, from Wetton Bridge to Rosemead Avenue.
The road is flooded in the left lane between the Ottery turn-off and the fire station, requiring drivers to approach with caution.
An accident has just occurred on Valhalla Drive involving two cars, but no significant delays have been reported.
Rosemead Avenue is intermittently flooded between Wetton and Imam Haron Road, with oncoming and incoming traffic using only one lane.
There is a possibility of roads flooding in Mitchells Plain, and motorists are advised to keep a safe following distance.
In Westridge, Mitchells Plain, Park Avenue is flooded between Bonfoi and Boschendal Road.
Flooding is also reported in Banhoek, Biedouberg and Blaauberg, with urgent assistance needed.
Near Tafelsig High School, 35th Avenue and Owen Road are flooded.
Traffic congestion is severe at Robert Sobukwe and Stellenbosch Arterial, with taxis opting to use these roads.
Authorities are working to manage the situation and provide assistance where needed.
Motorists are urged to plan their routes accordingly, be mindful of pedestrian crossings, especially near schools, and stay safe during these adverse weather conditions.
