The Morning After, an eight-episode series, follows the partying Nina (Amara Okereke), who wakes up on Camps Bay Beach with no clothes and all of her belongings missing after a wild night.
A group of friends welcomes her to their commune while she considers her next steps.
Nina’s life is filled with morning-after scenes as she struggles to balance her new life and make ends meet while fighting her alcohol addiction.
Back in Birmingham, Nina’s demanding family disapproves of her new city lifestyle.

Thierry Cassuto and Karen Jeynes created the series, which also stars Tarryn Wyngaard as lawyer Cleo, who has a complicated relationship with Mandisa (Gaosi Raditholo).
Michaela and Justin, Nina’s rich siblings at home in Cape Town, are played by Carmen Pretorius and Richard Gau. While Michaela embraces her creative side and desire for control, Justin struggles to start his own business and impress his parents.
Danica Jones as the no-nonsense camerawoman Pauline and Khaya Dladla as the bar runner and nightclub impresario Tarquin round out the cast, making them perhaps the two most grounded characters in Nina’s world.
