The Western Cape will continue experiencing cold and wet conditions this week, according to the SA Weather Service (SAWS).

Forecaster Kanyisa Nakubalo predicts another cold front on Wednesday with rain persisting into Thursday, especially affecting Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, and the West Coast.

General rainfall will range between 10mm and 20mm, with mountainous areas like Paarl and Stellenbosch expecting 30mm to 35mm.
A Level 2 weather warning will be issued due to saturated ground from previous rains. Temperatures will drop below 18°C, and another cold front is anticipated on Saturday, mainly impacting the south coast.
Colin Denier, head of Western Cape disaster management, emphasises preparedness, noting that the series of weak cold fronts will not match last week’s severe weather.
However, the public should stay vigilant due to ongoing relief efforts and potential flooding.
Last week’s storms caused widespread flooding, affecting over 158 000 people and damaging or flooding nearly 47 700 structures in Cape Town and surrounding areas.
