1.La Colombe
After placing 49th in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards and earning the title of Best Restaurant in Africa, the acclaimed fine-dining venue La Colombe is thriving. While it offers memorable dining experiences, the full Chef’s Menu is priced at R1995 per person, making it a bit pricey for many locals. However, compared to international competitors, it offers good value.
For those eager to sample the creations of Executive Chef James Gaag, the La Colombe winter menu is the perfect opportunity. Available for lunch only from Monday to Friday, this unforgettable eight-course menu showcases the excellence of this world-class kitchen. And yes, their signature Tuna ‘La Colombe’ is included!

Their Winter Menu Special features a four-course sampling of the kitchen’s offerings, starting with the exceptional Foxcroft bread, followed by one tapas plate (be sure to try the Yellowfin tuna tataki), one main course (the Pan-roasted line fish with smoked mussels and pak choi is a standout), and one dessert (all are excellent, thanks to Glenn’s pastry background).
