Despite the persistent rainfall, the City of Cape Town has assured its residents that it will continue to address damages caused as a result of the current weather.

Numerous rivers and canals are at capacity, with some banks having burst.
The City has also reported that roads across the metropole have been flooded.
The Roads Department is working to address any blockages in the stormwater system; however, this process has been further complicated by the continuous rainfall.
As far as humanitarian relief is concerned, assessments are ongoing to determine the number of people affected.
A number of humanitarian relief agencies are assisting with soft relief, including Gift of the Givers, Ashraful Aid, Islamic Relief, The Workshop, the Mustadafin Foundation and Alimdaad, in the areas of Khayelitsha, Lwandle, Nomzamo, Gugulethu, Philippi, Masiphumelele, Philippi East, Mfuleni, Tafelsig and Vygieskraal.
The South African Weather Service has stated that the existing weather warnings remain in place for both 9 and 10 July.
The warnings are Level 6 disruptive rain for Tuesday and Wednesday and Level 4 damaging winds, which has been extended to Thursday.
There is also a warning for Level 8 disruptive rain in place for Thursday, 11 July 2024, as well as a Level 6 warning for damaging waves.
All City services are on hand to deal with any potential weather-related incidents.
