South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced the loss of Mr Ayanda Majozi, who passed away on Wednesday, 16 August 2023. Mr Majozi was a field ranger in the Visitor Safety Ranger (VSR) Unit.

In a tribute posted on social media, SANParks said that Mr Majozi joined SANParks on 1 July 2011. The tribute said that, throughout his tenure, he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his unwavering commitment to his role.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr Majozi was also an avid trail runner, a passion he showcased annually through his participation in the Cableway Charity Challenge.
SANParks said that his absence has created an irreplaceable void felt deeply by both his Table Mountain National Park peers and the regular visitors of TMNP.
‘We have lost a true hero and someone who had a passion for being a field ranger. I would like to express my sincere condolences to his immediate family, friends, and the SANParks family. The memorial and funeral arrangements are underway.’
