There are many reasons people tackle a great hike. Personal growth, a love for the outdoors, to push themselves, and sometimes in an act of admirable goodwill.
Combining most of these elements is a mother and son duo from Cape Town, who plan on making a magnificent climb to help animals in need.
Anile and Jayden Peiser are set to climb none other than Africa’s tallest peak, Kilimanjaro in early July.
According to Jayden (14) he’s had the dream to climb Kilimanjaro since the tender age of 8 years old, following in his mom’s literal footsteps as she had already completed the journey before.
“We were scheduled to climb in 2020, but due to Covid we had to postpone, with 2022 being our first opportunity again.”
“Besides my incredible love for the outdoors and hiking, the main reason why I am determined to join this expedition is because the heart of this mission is to raise funds for animal charity. It is my opportunity to be a voice for the voiceless,” he added.
Jayden expresses that it’s very special to have his mom joining him on the incredible adventure alongside 25 climbers who also share the intention to make a positive change in the world of animals.
“Another amazing part of this trip, is our visit to a local school in Tanzania,” the 14-year-old legend said before explaining that he will use received funding and “gently used goods” to make a difference in the lives of those that aren’t as privileged.
